Engleza poate deveni limba obligatorie pe Internet

Cei de la CAIC speră ca până în 2010 toate paginile web din lume scrise în altă limbă decât engleza să fie traduse. Motivul ar fi uşurinţa de a găsi informaţii folosind motoarele de căutare. Încă nu mă pot pronunţa în privinţa acestui plan dar mi se pare oarecum deplasat să obligi o persoană să creeze un site în limba engleză.

Currently the different languages used on the Internet make it difficult both for search engines and human users to find and compare information across different sources. We know that the migration towards a English-based web will present challenges, but we believe that it is a move in the right direction.
